Our Goals
1.) To help other Florida homeowners PUT THEIR ROOFS TO WORK and become more energy independent. 2.) Keep jobs here in the USA by using top quality US made solar equipment. 3.) Lower our country's dependence on foreign oil and burning of coal for production of electricity one home and one car at a time.
In 2007, we started producing some of our own electricity with a small solar system...what we could afford... then in 2008 we added a 2nd system. Since July 2008, we have been producing ALL of our own electricity. We were able to eliminate the high and unpredictable cost of electricity from our family budget. Our average monthly electric bill for the last two years has been $8.98 (Electric Bills). This is the base customer charge with our utility just for being connected to the utility grid.
In June 2010, we converted our Toyota Prius to a Plug-In-Hybrid-Electric-Vehicle (PHEV) and started driving with electricity we produced. In July 2013, we purchased a Ford C-Max Energi (PHEV) and continued our lifestyle of driving with electricity produced entirely by our Solar Systems. This minimized our need to purchase gasoline, once again allowing us to control another unpredictable cost in our family budget. Now, in 2019 all of our transportation needs are fully met with two electric vehicles.
Since we went solar back in 2007 and Put Our Roof to Work, turnkey prices for system installations have dropped by over 70%. The solar system we installed in 2007 for $11 per watt can now be purchased for $3.00 to $3.50 per watt. In addition to prices dropping so dramatically, you are only paying 70% of this cost since for 2019 Federal Government allows a 30% Tax Credit for investments in Solar Electric.
